Greetings UUMC Family & Friends

We got a bit behind in our communications, so here are your updates from your family at University UMC for Thursday, May 21st, 2020

Movement toward Re-opening at UUMC

Earlier this week our Administrative Board voted to approve the Re-opening Procedures that we will use to guide us in our decisions towards re-opening the church building and all the mission and ministries in and outside our walls. As most other organizations are doing, we will begin allowing groups, meetings, and other gatherings to resume in phases and with strict social distancing guidelines in place.

To see a full breakdown of what will be re-opened or resumed in each phase you can download the full version of the Re-opening Procedures below. We want you all to know that this document is a living document and will change as we get new and updated guidance from our Annual Conference, our State officials, and our Church leadership.

We hope you all understand that this will not be a simple process as we transition from phase to phase. We ask for continued grace in the coming weeks and months as the church leadership make the difficult decisions that must be made as to when and how this church, University UMC, is able to congregate safely as a church body once again. Please keep our church leadership, the staff, and all those in leadership around our community in your prayers.

Stay up to Date with UUMC

To make sure you have the most up-to-date information as to which groups are meeting when and where, when services are available, and more it is recommended you subscribe to the UUMC e-newsletter, follow us on Facebook, and check the UUMC website regularly.
Also, as part of our efforts to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be connected and informed we have initiated church wide texting. If you would like to receive text message updates you can text “uumc” to 84576 to sign up!

Room/Space Reservations

As we move into phase 1 of our re-opening, we are excited to be able to have small groups and meetings resume both in and outside the church. In order to get everyone the space they need and continue to be good stewards of all our spaces we are asking all the small groups, committees, and other meetings that are ready to resume in-person meetings to submit an updated Room/Space reservation form (click the link below to download a form). Our office staff will evaluate all requests and do our best to make spaces available that will allow your group to meet safely while following our most current social distancing guidelines.

*Please note that any group requesting to meet anywhere on church property will be asked to follow all social distancing guidelines. Any group wanting to meet inside will need to do so during posted office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm)
