Tracy Esslinger

Tracy is a Mesilla Valley native raised in La Mesa, New Mexico on her family farm. She graduated from  Gadsden High School in Anthony, New Mexico, and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Tracy completed her Masters degree in Education and Human Development, with a concentration in Counseling at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado.

Tracy has spent the majority of her career working with children in Denver as a Counselor in an adolescent group home, Case Manager and Program Director of Big Sisters of Colorado,  and as Executive Director for Friends for Youth, a  Christian- based mentoring program for youth in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

In addition to working with children, Tracy loves the outdoors. She worked as a Project Manager with Urban Edges Inc., Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and the South Suburban Park Foundation, securing funding, developing volunteer trail- building projects, and implementing outdoor education programs for youth. Tracy also served on the Board of the Colorado Trail Foundation and Mission Ministries in Denver.

For over fifteen years Tracy led and facilitated Christian mission trips to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico through Cherry Hills Community Church in Denver and to Juarez, Mexico through Mission Ministries helping to construct homes, churches, and an orphanage for girls. She conducted training for volunteer team members and worked with local church leaders to serve families in their communities.

In her free time Tracy enjoys skiing, golf, fly-fishing, hiking, and gardening.
