Our Congregational Care Ministry is here to help support the members of University UMC by showing Christ’s love to each and every person who comes through our doors each week. Here are some of the different ways we care for our friends and family at University UMC.
A group of caring individuals who go out and visit our members when they are in the hospital, Care Centers, or housebound.
¨ Phone Calls
Check in on our housebound members and spend some time chatting with them.
¨ Letters of Love
Write letters to members who are housebound, who have relocated but still like to keep in contact with their UUMC Family, or who need an extra bit of Christ’s Love in their life.
¨ Prayerful Postcards
This group writes postcards to those on our prayer list who are in need of prayerful thoughts and words.
¨ Birthday Greetings Postcards
Just a little way we like to remind our members that we care about them on their special day…
¨ Bereavement Team
This team aides the church by assisting families during times of loss and mourning. They are often called upon to help provide/organize meals for funerals/memorials, host at memorial receptions, and other miscellaneous tasks in relation to funeral/memorial services.
¨ Home Communion Team
Our Home Communion Team takes Holy Communion to those of our members who can’t make it to church or who are in need of a little extra blessing.
¨ Visitors Outreach Team
This Team reaches out to our first time visitors through phone calls, e-mails, and letters just to let them know we appreciate them coming to University UMC and we hope to see them again.
¨ Prayer Shawl Stitchers
This ministry provides knitted & crocheted shawls for those in need of healing, compassion, and prayer. Our Prayer Shawl Stitchers meet every 4th Tuesday of the Month at 6:00pm in the church parlor to “Meditate, Create, & Donate”
¨ Upper Room Prayer Group
